KYC & AML at 1win
All necessary measures are taken to combat money laundering and the financing of international terrorism (AML Policy). 1win tries to prevent any illegal activity on its platform. To fulfil these obligations, in certain situations 1win must inform the appropriate official authorities. If it is proven that user funds are used for money laundering or other illegal activities, 1win has every reason to block them.
Money laundering is the legalization of the possession, use, or disposal of money or other property obtained through the commission of a crime, i.e. their transfer from the shadow, informal economy to the official economy in order to be able to use these funds openly and publicly.
How Does 1win Fight Fraud?
1win opposes crime all over the world and takes all measures to ensure that players cannot use money from their balances to finance crime or other illegal activities. 1win applies internal rules and special programmes to prevent money from the criminal sphere from flowing into the official economic system of states.
If a player registers on the 1win platform, they accept and undertake to fulfil the following obligations:
- The player agrees to comply with all laws and regulations that relate to money laundering and terrorist financing, including AML policy.
- The client acknowledges that he/she has no information that the money used in the past, present or future has come from an illegal source or has any connection with money laundering.
- Each player also fully agrees to provide all information 1win requires in order to fulfil its obligations in terms of compliance with laws and regulations related to money laundering or other criminal activities.
In addition, 1win can carry out additional procedures that help it fight money laundering and terrorist financing. You can find out more about these procedures below:
- 1win keeps documents proving a player’s identity, as well as information about all transactions in the account, in line with its privacy policy;
- 1win keeps track of transactions made by suspicious customers as well as transactions with special conditions;
- 1win has the right at any time to refuse a player any transaction, including a withdrawal, if it suspects that the transaction may be related to money laundering, terrorist financing or any other illegal activity. Under the law, 1win does not have to notify the player that their account has become suspicious and may also, without any notification, pass on customer information to the relevant authorities.
- 1win conducts initial and ongoing checks on users. This is necessary to assess the risks with each user who registers on the 1win platform.
- 1win will ask the player to provide minimal data to verify their identity; payment details used for deposits and withdrawals must belong to the player;
- 1win will retain all identification information, as well as the documents used to complete the verification process, whether they were submitted on the website or in the 1win app;
- 1win will check all information about the player to make sure the new customer is not a suspected terrorist. It can check the full name, date of birth, residential address and any other information that is publicly available or provided by the player;
In order to verify the authenticity of the information above, 1win may require the following documents, depending on the case:
- A government ID (passport or national ID card) with the full name, date of birth and a photograph of the owner, issued by a national state-authorised body; 1win may also ask for a proof of address and a selfie (identity photo). Verification is usually completed within 24 hours of submitting the documents, while e-mail and phone verification are instant.
